A special trip was made for us (juniors/ foundation in arts students)
to the senior/degree students block at PJ
which is the place i WILL be in approximately 7-8 months time
if i didn't fail any subjects in my foundation years
of course, i DO NOT intend to fail anything..
first of all FREE BUS RIDE to PC Block xDDDD
such a cheapskate i've become LOL
but its better than walking :P
so my first impression of the block itself was no comment
because i never expected too much from it
after hearing SO MUCH of comments about it
but what i personally think is still too brief
because we never really explored much
some of the thoughts during my mini trip
when walking to a place to see some of the Broadcasting students' work:
'the stairs makes me feel like im at somebody else's house'
when we're in the room itself to see the students' work:
'is the a/c working??'
'so small? o.o'
then after we are asked to get in the hall for some talks:
(and also some QnA session by Terry and Azura from RedFM)
real DJs man!!!! they're so cool and awesome and open! :)))
' huge halls hmm'
' the ceiling looks like its about to fall'
and then moving on to the exhibitions for us :)
'iMac computers?!?!?!'
actually the whole of the place
scares me!
i feel intimidated by it actually :(
i don't know how to explain the feeling but yea its scares me a little :X
i somehow feel not ready for it..
maybe its me just being a mere sem 2 student
i hope the feeling will pass..
saw some of the broadcasting people's work
some is good some is not.. normal
saw ALL of the other PC block student's artwork
they're all really good for a person like me WHO CANT DRAW NICELY
haha :P
then Jean and I went to the Corporate Communications (CC) booth
and just have a little more clear understanding about it
and somehow it seems that the lady who stood there to explain to us
is a lecture of that course itself
which of course, her information is RELIABLE :)
this was my own definition of my own course
which i coincidentally posted a few weeks ago

I do not have an EXACT idea of what i'm going to do with this :X

its in the communication field (which is what i wanted - not sure about that now)
in the business world (which is vast, that's good right? :) more job oppoturnity!)
well, mainly from what i know its like PR..can do advertising, event managing, etc.
like if 2 company wants to do business together then i become middle person
stuffs like that. difficult to explain what i understand :X
3 words, pretty vast field? :)"
and this is what i got from the lady :)
as far as i remember........... ( im not so unreliable when it comes to remembering things xD)
she said the MAIN objective of CC is to maintain a company's IMAGE
to hold events such as annual dinners
to handle the communications of the company with the outer world, sign contract etc.
and also sometimes the communications WITHIN a company itself!
so for example, if you are organizing an annual dinner,
then YOU are the one who make sure everyone comes :)
and then spreading info within a company etc.
maintaining the company's website
meeting with medias
or if someone wants to interview a company, we might be the representative of the company
to go on radio and be interviewed
then design brochures for companies
in the end we can STILL exit to the Journalism field, Advertising field and also Events Management field
oh and the most important Personality to have!

she said its better to have ALL 3, then you will have higher chance to work in a BIG company
or else, you'll end up working for tiny company..
see the impact of personality??
but then again, if everyone's working in BIG company
then who's working for the small ones?
beggars can't be choosers :/ *shrugs*
well the above info might not be 100% but as far as im concerned
thats kinda what she told us :X
so do you see the difference of what I understood then

i dont dare to give myself the answer
because i had a look at the subjects that i WILL be taking
i got a mini heart attack and i just died a little inside..
Fundamentals of MARKETING (my CURRENT LEAST FAV SUBJECT! WORST CASE SCENARIO!)
Financial Management
Corporate Writing I/II
Company Crisis Management etc.
and MORE SCARY LOOKING SUBJECTS T^T
God, please give me strength to keep going till the very end T^T
so whether visiting the PC block is a good thing for me or not..
there's good there's bad..
depends HOW i look at it..
but my mum has gave me AUTHORITY
on whether I want to continue to pursue this degree course or not
and she said it fully depends whether i like it or not
and the bad thing about that is.. if i somehow find that i chose the wrong thing..TOUCHWOOD!
im doomed and...
the only one to blame.. is me ._.
