Ipoh Trip!

Decided to talk about the Ipoh trip after all! x)
sorry if this post seems a little too cincai and messy :X

It was 13th January 2014, a Monday.
First trip of the year!
And first time travelling out of KL without family :X

There was SUPPOSED to be classes but fortunately it was just the first week of Y1S3 and there's only tutorials on Monday (for my schedule), so I kinda didn't have class
And I decided to join the trip all the way to Ipoh!

It was a trip organized by the Seapark geeks and I happened to be one of the FEW OUG geeks who went
Basically, there was only me, sook yii, nicky who were originally from the OUG lab
others like angelia , carson and kelvin were both used to be from seapark
met some of the seapark geeks and they were in PACKS
it was a little awkward because they already know each other for long but i guess we did click fine :)

and my driver of the day happens of be Nicky haha
he steady la... i didn't get carsick otw to and from Ipoh :X

Okay, so, I woke up early that day at about 9am to get ready for the trip
woke everyone else (from oug lab who is going) and gathered at seapark at about 11am
spent some time in the seapark lab talking to other geeks and technically waited for others

'vandalised' the seapark lab and wrote 'OUG geeks were here!'  in a small corner on their wall
spot it if you do drop by there :P my 'masterpiece' teehee!

at about 12pm, we finally took off from Seapark!!!
i think.. there were 5 cars for the road trip hahaha
So, we had nicky as the driver, angelia taking the front seat
while sook yii and i conquer the backseats :P

along the way, we were chit chatting and listening to music
they were fooling around with each other like taking over each other's car etc.
and they were communicating between each other through a whatsapp group like a walkie-talkie etc.
it was quite funny la because we were abusing the 'walkie talkie' at some point xD
and many times we were sesat because of traffic lights turning red
although we are quite doomed if we sesat at ipoh and none of us know the way
but hilariously, none of us panicked everytime we sesat xD
but of course, we always somehow managed to get back together la...
they were sharing location lol...
thank God for the invention of such technology! 

moving on, first stop was at ipoh 大树脚
at least that's what i think it is la.. they were using gps and typed 'big tree foot' LOL
so it was a place for yong tau foo and noodles and some other food
not sure if I was really hungry or what but the noodles was so good! :'D
then we walked around a bit and shopped at a grocery store for a bit
just stocking up some candies/snacks for the road trip haha

then off we went again..
if i didn't remember wrongly, we were sposed to head to a cave/temple place
called.... ling sen tong(??)
but it was closed..... and we went to the next place on our list...

HOTSPRING! :D
at first, i thought it was those waterfall/jungle cave hotspring..
turns out we were heading to lost world of tambun (hotspring version!)  haha
initially, everyone thought we were going to lost world of tambun
until the 'leader' detoured and walked to the hotspring version which is next to the water park one xD

we were a little early because the hotspring place is only open from 6pm onwards
and we were there at about 5.30pm-ish?
entrance fee was rm20 and it was a Monday... obviously NOT crowded at all..

and before we went in, i was STILL having the image in my mind
cave/jungle/rocks hotspring
and i was wondering why the heck are they bringing frisbees?
how we gonna play la.. since the water is hot and all..

and we went in and i saw.. it was like a waterpark la...
one part of it was hotspring.. like different place has different water temperature..
and the other part was a like a man-made beach area
that's where they played their frisbee! 

so after changing, they were playing frisbee at the beach area
and in my mind, it was like 'oh shit. im doomed.'
because i tried tossing a frisbee once and it was..... embarassing...
and if they were to keep playing that, im gonna be bored and im gonna be awkward
i mean.. i changed and im not gonna play?
after all, frisbee has never appealed much to me before

then i went on a YOLO mode and tried anyway..
some of them were in the water waiting for the frisbee to be thrown at them
while I, the noob, stand at the sand area and try to throw it to them  
obviously i fail la..... 

fortunately, under the guidance of Carson, Angelia and Nicky
I managed to learn the basic fundamentals on how to play the frisbee :D
they brought me to the sand area and we just played among ourselves in the sand area
where i don't need to toss the frisbee so far away x_x though my aiming is like shit but heck at least i can catch 8 out of 10 frisbees thrown at me
and throw it right so the person can catch it.. maybe 50/50? HAHAHAHA
  
and then it occured to me then i'm enjoying myself with frisbee!
and it was a chance to bond with the other seapark geeks as well..
all of them seem to know how to play frisbee well x_x
it's really nice to play actually.. i don't know why but somehow it's just enjoyable...
something good to play casually!
i don't think i'll ever play it at a competitive level though.. :X

after that we went to the hotsprings and tried every single one
just for the fun of it and the fact we paid for it :P
there was a steam cave where it was like sauna
trust me.. i went in there..and i could barely breathe...
it was SO humid and HOT in there T_T

if that's how sauna is.. then i dont think i like sauna!

after the whole lost world tambun activity, we went for DINNER
and one does not leave ipoh without eating...
IPOH CHICKEN RICE! XD
and again, not sure if I'm hungry or what.. it was goooooood! :'D
forgot the shop's name but whatever! :P

hey we even saw a shop name.. yummy TITS bits! 
psst.. i think they meant TIT bits.. not TITS bits xD

then it was about 8pm(?) after we finished dinner
and some of them wanted desert xD
waited a little bit for the 'leader' to run some errands
and we went 'tong sui kai' (at least, that's what i was told)
ate some abc/ais kacang..
and it was good too.. not too sweet and decent amount of ingredients/toppings
and bonded a little more with the seapark geeks hehe :)

then after that, we finally left ipoh! and i think it was about 10.30pm?
and one of them actually wanted to take away McNuggets.... (seriously right? xD)

and we waited until..11pm? and finally FINALLY headed home!
so in the car, we had nicky the driver, carson, angelia, sook yii and I!
switched seats with angelia because she said she wanted to sleep
and i wasn't really tired and decided to accompany nicky
because.. driving alone in the night can be boring.. x_x
turns out.. no one really slept because we were chit chatting and raving to those clubbing songs on radio
apparently.. ah bao ask them not to touch me and teach me bad stuff
because they were asking me to go 'clubbing' haha..
i dont think clubbing is ever for me though.. seems too wild x)

so on the way, we did see some reckless drivers
and nicky was raging and it was so funny! xD
the way he curse hahahahahah!
oh! and he created an inside joke about tires..
it was hilarious... everyone in the car laughed like crazy for a couple of minutes!

when we finally reached seapark to send carson and angelia home, it was about 2am
then we sent sook yii home and it was about  2.30am (?)
and when i finally reached home.. it was... 2.45am?
never out so late.. but i was exhausted when i got home haha

although we didn't do anything epic there, but i had fun nevertheless!
plus, it was probably my last outing with them for about few months
because they usually make it on Mondays when the lab is closed x_x
and i have classes on mondays!
and it's probably my last trip/outing with angelia since she doesn't work at the lab anymore :/
it's been almost 2 weeks and i miss her like hell already...

oh well.. at least i had fun while it lasted!
off for some rest and classes resume tomorrow..
week 2 here we go >.<
